EXTERNAL CONTEXT

AND POLICY

Education leaders influence political, social, economic, legal and cultural contexts affecting education to improve education policies and practices.

Professional development from the CSUEB educational leadership program, from the Museum of Tolerance workshops, and from the New Teacher's Center School Leadership Series have provided me with various tools for leading in a political, social, economic, legal, and cultural context within educational systems.

Being an educational leader is about bringing out the best in communities to support the individual growth of people, providing equitable access to education, modeling ethical practices, and creating environments for learning.
